Elastic, breathable, lightweight jacket for ski tours

The most athletic material in our collection is now even more functional! Our ISPO AWARD-winning PIZ DULEDA JACKET for women was developed for demanding ski tours. What’s new is the technical inserts on the front: Thanks to a schoeller® c_change™ membrane, the innovative 3L SPACER MESH protects against the elements and is extremely breathable. And the air pockets in the mesh construction provide an optimal insulation ratio.

For the main material, we’ve used the tried-and-tested MERINO NATURETEC LIGHT with Tasmanian merino wool on the inside and protective polyamide on the outside. This design allows us to achieve outstanding breathability without a membrane, while the material’s tight weave is still extremely wind and water-resistant. On the inside, merino fibers provide perfect moisture and temperature regulation. The natural fibers wick up moisture, transporting them to the fiber cores and then outwards so that the surface stays dry and comfortable on the skin.

This ski touring jacket for women has an athletic cut and provides unbelievable freedom of movement thanks to the use of extremely elastic materials. A tight-fitting hood protects the head from the cold – it also fits easily under a helmet for alpine activities. Ventilation zippers under the arms provide cooling during the climb, as does the jacket’s front zipper, ensuring best possible fit, even when wearing a climbing harness. And elastic cuffs keep out cold drafts and snow. The two powermesh pockets are backpack compatible and therefore allow you quick access to your equipment. Other small items can be stowed in the bonded upper arm pocket.

Material

c_change™ membrane from schoeller®
This active membrane is not just wind and waterproof, but also “intelligent”. Like a pine cone that opens when it’s warm outside and closes when the temperature falls, the membrane also reacts immediately to sweat build-up with special moisture and temperature management. This means the membrane’s molecular structure can adapt to different temperatures. If the body becomes too hot, the polymer structure opens in order to regulate temperature and sweat production. If it’s cold, the polymer structure closes. This mechanism results in insulation properties that are directly matched to the wearer’s body temperature and the environmental temperature.

Merino wool
Since 1995, merino wool has been an integral component of ORTOVOX’s mountainwear. Our merino wool comes from happy sheep reared on monitored, ethical sheep farms. The wool is naturally 100% ecological and therefore super sustainable. Thanks to the small-diameter fibers in its fine woolen threads, merino wool feels extremely soft and comfortable on the skin.  In addition to comfort, merino wool also provides an ideal personal body climate by regulating both moisture and temperature. It is also easy to care for and, thanks to its antibacterial effect, odor neutralizing.

Merino Naturetec Light Material
The merino wool is directly woven together with the material from schoeller® to create the ORTOVOX NATURETEC LIGHT fabric. This combination of merino wool and durable polyamide is extremely robust and elastic – making it ideal for high-action sports. The merino wool on the skin ensures good wear comfort and an ideal personal microclimate, while the polyamide provides protection against wind and light precipitation.
